Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 August 2026. This policy explains what data PolitiCompass handles, why, and what choices you have. It is written to be read rather than to be technically compliant and unintelligible.

The short version: we do not ask for your name, your email address or any account. Your test answers never leave your browser. The only third party that receives data about your visit is our advertising provider, Google, and you can control that.

Test answers. When you take the test, your answers are held in your browser's memory while you complete it and are used to calculate your result on the same device. They are not transmitted to our servers, not written to any database, and not linked to any identifier. Closing the tab discards them. We therefore have no ability to retrieve, export or delete your answers on request, because we never received them.

Information we do collect. Our web server records standard request logs: the page requested, the time, the HTTP status, the referring page, your browser's user agent string and a truncated form of your IP address. These logs are used to diagnose faults and to measure aggregate traffic, are not combined with any other source, and are deleted on a rolling basis. Our hosting provider and our content delivery network, Cloudflare, process the same request data in order to deliver the site and to mitigate attacks.

Advertising. This site carries advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are shown a consent notice before non-essential cookies are set, and personalised advertising is used only where you have given consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the same notice, and withdrawing consent does not remove advertising — it makes it non-personalised.

Legal bases. Where the UK GDPR and EU GDPR apply, we rely on your consent for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising, and on our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functioning website for server request logs.

Your rights. Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability in relation to personal data we hold about you. Because we hold no account data and no test answers, in most cases the only data concerned is request log data, and we may be unable to identify you from it. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children. This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
