Reading the map

The National Rally, the largest opposition party, and Renaissance, the President's party, are almost level on the economic axis (+2.0 and +2.4) and far apart on the social one (+6.7 against −1.8). What separates them first is culture, not economics. On economics, the Republicans (+5.6) and Reconquête (+6.7) are both further right than the National Rally.

La France insoumise is the most economically left-wing of all 50 parties covered on this site (−8.2), ahead of the Communist Party (−7.5). The two differ on the social axis, where the Communists (−2.9) are much closer to the centre than La France insoumise (−6.4). Experts rate the National Rally's economic position as the most blurred in France: 5.0 on a 0–10 scale of vagueness.

On Europe, the National Rally (2.2) and Reconquête (1.6) are clearly opposed to further integration on CHES's 1–7 scale, while La France insoumise (3.0) and the Communists (3.1) lean against it; MoDem is the most pro-European (6.8). On immigration, the National Rally (9.5) and Reconquête (9.7) are at the opposite end from La France insoumise (1.5) and Les Écologistes (1.6).
